The Rope
links on this page will give you
broader perspective of the surprisingly rich world of jump
rope. I have organized the links according to their main emphasis although
many of the web sites offer information on different aspects of rope
jumping, e.g. many jump rope organizations dedicated to the sport of jump
rope also offer educational material and workshops.
Jump Rope Organizations
USA Jump
Rope Federation organizes jump rope camps and tournaments in Double
Dutch and Single Rope competition around the U.S. every year. The
national championship tournament is held at Disney World in Orlando,
Florida every June. USAJRF also offers promotional and educational
videos, two of which I
authored (I'm a former board member and former educational committee
chair). Although most of the members of USAJRF are children, the
organization is not only open to adults, but also offers competitive
events for adults. Highly recommended!

The
American Double Dutch League
specializes in Double Dutch competition (naturally!) with almost all the
teams in Eastern U.S. Congratulations to ADDL for 30 years of
competition, fun, and for putting trick rope jumping on the map with their
many past appearances on the former Johnny Carson Show.
The
European Rope Skipping Organization (ERSO)
is similar to USAJRF. This site has a number of unique features that
are worth visiting, like a long list of established jump rope skills in
single rope, double Dutch, the Wheel, etc. Also find links to
organizations in individual European countries.
Info-Skip
Canada is a web site with link to multiple organizations in Canada in
around the world. It has both English and French.

FISAC-IRSA (International Rope Skipping Association) organizes an
international rope skipping tournament every other year and will be
holding its first international camp in Australia in July 2004.
Jump Rope Educational Material &
Equipment
USA Jump
Rope Federation has several instructional videos and manuals for
helping you to master jump rope skills, as well as introducing you to the
vast variety of skill in jump rope.
The Rope Warrior
(a.k.a. David Fischer), a jump rope expert and performer offers two
instructional videos and a manual that teach unusual skills.
Buddy Lee, another jump
rope expert and former Olympic wrestler offers jump ropes and a book that
focuses on how to use rope jumping for athletic conditioning.
Lifeline-USA, offers
very good jump ropes as well and come with an instructional booklet.
I've used their ropes from the beginning and used to do demonstrations for
them.
JumpRope.com has a
variety of jump ropes, charts, and instructional materials as well. I
would recommend their instructional materials over their jump ropes.
Amazon.com
is an excellent site for finding other jump rope related products,
including hard to find books on Chinese rope, jump rope rhymes, etc.
Just type in "jump rope" in their search box.
